Strange Television Show
A friend of mine directed me to this clip, and to be honest… I don’t get it. I understand it’s not my culture and there are things I won’t get in many cultures, but this takes the prize for being one of the things I really, really don’t understand.
From what I can tell, it’s a very twisted game of cards, but beyond that…
Watch it and see if you can explain the draw of this show to me.

Man, I work in a library. We should try this to get more teens in.
I would SO watch this every day.

Really? Why? Is it strange fascination for you? Humor?
Tell me more. :)

Umm, I also do not get the fascination in it.

Well, I lasted through about a minute and a half of it. I certainly would never watch a regular television show like this. I will say the appeal is aimed at a young crowd — fast action, immediate consequences, a laugh at someone else’s expense, and realizing the whole thing is going on in a LIBRARY where every young boy is forced to sit still, stay quiet, and touch nothing. Other than that, I don’t have a clue.

I only lasted through the whole thing because I need to watch an entire video before I post it.
Good points though. You get doing something against the rules (fooling around in the library), fast action in a Russian Roulette style, and strange consequences.

I watched the whole thing and laughed a good few times. What’s not to get about it?
It’s a Japanese gameshow where a bunch of idiots play Russian roulette with forfeits in a library. It’s funny, quirky, and something I’d watch regularly if I could.

I’ve been thinking about it, and I might watch it more than once (the show) out of weird fascination…but still. Hm.
Maybe it’s something you either get or don’t get.
