Mario: Game Over
I love this, it’s one of the funniest things I’ve seen on Youtube for a long time. What happened to Mario after the games finished, and he escaped mushroom kingdom? Well, it looks like he and princess peach are now living in New York, and having some relationship woes.
The mixture of real life footage and game footage is excallent. I always thought there was something funny about those (magic) mushrooms that Mario seemed to crave, and here we get to see how his craving for that hit drives him mad. The scene of him in the alleyway getting his fix is inspired.
Luigi gets a look in too, as a bitter geek, who is sick of never getting any attention. The funniest line for me was about Mario’s need to get a job, and his insistence he had one, he’s a plumber… “when was the last time you plumbed anything?” comes the reply.
The whole thing is written by a comedy group called Poykpac, and you can check them out at their YouTube channel, or on their MySpace.
