Hackney Pony People Are Nuts
Hackney ponies are great, because all ponies are great. But Hackney pony breeders and showers can be just a little too fanatical. I’m not sure suicide bombers for Al-Queida have as much fire as these folks do when they’re riled.
I’m sure you’ve encountered similar groups of people who are so loyal to one breed of dog/cat/horse/human that if you happen to just look at them sideways, they try to bite your head off. Hackney pony fanatics are not alone this reguard.
It’s just that a half-dozen of them have decided to virtually come after me because I worte an article on Helium as truthfully as I could entitled The Temperament of the Hackney Pony and they somehow found it offensive. The emails I’ve received have been both scary and hilarious. I’ve been accused of everything from being a hack (very punny, I guess) to trying to “hurt an endangered breed”. Anyone who does that to me must face the wimpy lash of my sarcasm.
And just what do these folks do to their precious ponies? Glad you asked. Let’s have a look:
I guess those Hackney ponies weren’t good enough as they normally are, featured here:
The Myth of the Purebred
Hurt an endangered breed? Are you kidding me? First off, there is really no such thing as a purebred, whether it’s a dog, person or a pony. You go back enough and lo and behold, there’s another breed there. Everything is a mixed breed. Hell, I’m a mongrel. There is no such thing as an endangered breed. Even if it suppossedly dies out, you can breed it back to life. Just look at what happened to the Tarpan.
Well, off to collapse now. Ranting takes it outa me.
