High School Musical Two

Friday, September 14th, 2007

Yes, I’m a little behind on the times, but I don’t have the Disney channel and I wasn’t falling over my feet for the first one. BUT I came across some videos from the second movie, and I’m in a sentimental mood, so I thought I’d put them up.

Plus, they do have decent singing voices.

Enjoy - You are the music in me, Everyday, What Time is it…

Chaser’s War on Everything - Road Tests

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

Last week I introduced you the Australian show, The Chaser’s War on Everything.

One of the segments they do is called the Ad Road Test, where they take an ad and “find out if the claims made by the advertising companies stack up in the real world.” As in, if you see a commercial where a patron walks into a fast food place, asks a question, and the answer is sung back by the staff, they will go out and test to see if that really happens.

That’s the most basic explanation, but you get what I’m talking about.

In this ad road test, they are testing out the Nicorette ad where a man is offered a cigarette and a pep squad shows up saying, “No, Gary, no.” (shown in the clip) Now, if a pep squad showed up in front of a real smoker in real life, would that stop him from smoking? Watch and find out.

Chaser’s War on Everything

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

The Chaser’s War on Everything is one of my favorite televisions shows here in Australia. It’s basically another “nothing is sacred” show, but done with taste and leaning more towards big issues like politics and terrorism. That’s not to say they don’t have a pointless clip or two thrown in there, but they’re definitely many large steps above other shows of this type.

In this clip, the Chasers respond in their own way to the terrorist security response here in Australia where they were trying to stop people from filming and taking pictures of famous landmarks.

See what the difference in response is to a man dressed up as an American tourist, and a man dress “slightly different”.

Enjoy. (more…)

SNL Harry Potter

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

I think I’ve made it pretty clear on this blog that I love Saturday Night Live (especially ‘the good ol’ days’). I loved it even more when I saw this Harry Potter spoof.

Find out what happens when everyone is back from summer vacation and Hermione has…some new special powers.

Matrix Ping Pong

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

I love this video.

This started as a pretty funny matrix style ping pong video which was mildly entertaining…

However, I found myself liking it more and more as the boundaries of the scene were stretched - despite the people dressed in black coming into a white background. By that time it didn’t matter because the humor was showing through. The players ‘flew’ around the room trying to get the ping pong ball and at times you could forget the people dressed in black were even there.

I laughed out loud when they moved the table and players around so it was like a smooth camera shot going from one viewpoint to another. Also, the use of the ball attached to a long pole made even more funny things possible.

I am in no way accurately describing the awesomeness of this video. The matrix style ping pong is not only funny, but you can also appreciate the amount of rehearsing and choreography involved in doing such a scene.

Enjoy.

Chick Magnet Secrets

Monday, August 27th, 2007

When I saw the title of this video, I was highly amused and thought this would be an easy laugh to score, watching one more man talk about how to get women, instead of just asking women. Beyond that, every woman is different, so to say “every woman wants” anything is a bit of a far stretch most of the time.

However, this guy does have some good points some guys could definitely find useful. (more…)

Cheaters Online

Friday, August 24th, 2007

Unhappy in your marriage? Then check out AshleyMadison.com.

When I first saw this television clip, I couldn’t quite believe it. I thought it was a joke. But as the interview went on, they were completely serious. I even checked out the website, and it truly is a “Romantic Rendezvous [site] for Attached Adults”.

What I find extremely ironic is the woman who is being interviewed was married and met a guy who was married.

They’re both cheaters.

And yet she calmly states her faith in the relationship. Even though they’re both cheaters.

Am I the only one not getting this? I feel like I should be saying “AshleyMadison.com - Making adultery easy.”

Maybe when you see this video, you’ll think “cool” or “humanity has no morals”. Either way, I’m still stunned. I shouldn’t be, given the internet has everything else out there to tempt you, tease you, and pleasure you as much as you want. Still, this amazes me.

I’d love to hear from anyone who has used this, will use this, or would consider using this. Tell me why or even why not if you’re against it.

Sucks to be You

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

…on Avenue Q.

With songs like “The Internet is for Porn” and “Everyone is a Little Racist”, you can see why this unconventional musical made it big.

By mixing two things not often mixed - puppets and adult humor - you get Avenue Q, the musical that deals with real things like unemployment, racism, and sex in music form.

With puppets. (more…)

Strange Television Show

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

A friend of mine directed me to this clip, and to be honest… I don’t get it. I understand it’s not my culture and there are things I won’t get in many cultures, but this takes the prize for being one of the things I really, really don’t understand.

From what I can tell, it’s a very twisted game of cards, but beyond that…

Watch it and see if you can explain the draw of this show to me.

The New Battlestar Galactica

Wednesday, August 1st, 2007

My husband actually found this one and showed it to me, and I knew, with the recent BSG request and what’s summing up to be a BSG week, I had to put it up.

This song is about both the original BSG and comparing it to the new BSG. I haven’t seen the show and I enjoy the song, so I’m sure show fans will definitely enjoy it.

Listen closely to the lyrics. It’s worth it.

Battlestar Galactica vs Star Wars vs Star Trek vs Babylon 5

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

If you’re a fan of the massive space battles featured in any one of the shows/films above, then you’ll like this video.

Have fun picking out which ships belong to which show/film while enjoying the graphics and explosions. Who will reign supreme? Well, you’ll have to watch to find out.

Battlestar Galactica

Monday, July 30th, 2007

I’ll admit it - I’ve never watched Battlestar Galactica. But after watching what they do for fun (in the original, at least) I want to check out the show, both new and old.

As per request, here is some Battlestar Galactica goodness for the masses. If you start wondering where the spoof is in the beginning (like I did) just keep watching.

For other Battlestar Galactica goodness, check out Watching BSG. Also, check in for more BSG goodness this week.

Soft Shoe

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007

As I’ve said before, one of my most favorite things about Australian television is the amount of sex – be it straightforward, implied, or innuendo – is used in advertising. It’s a mark of a country that accepts sex for what it is and doesn’t have hang-ups over it.

I think you’ll find this commercial – the very first commercial I saw over here that made my jaw drop – quite funny. I’ll caution you if you have a fear of spiders. Or maybe I should encourage you instead…

Britain’s Got Talent - Paul Potts

Friday, July 20th, 2007

I’m a little late on finding this video, but even for those who did watch this, it’s worth watching again.

One of the main things I don’t like about people is when they judge someone before knowing them. I know it sounds goody-goody, but it’s the truth. You can see it in the faces of these judges when Paul announces to them he’s going to sing opera.

To them, I say, “Take that, judges!

Watch here to see something amazing come from a man people might usually pass by without a glance.

Whogasm - Dr Who Orgasm

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

I’m a big fan of Dr. Who and am an avid reader of Elisa’s Watching Dr Who. Saturday’s episode incredible and if you don’t believe me, then watch the evidence of 2 women having what will forever now be called a “whogasm”. I can’t take credit for the name myself, instead the uploader of the video named it as such. Warning! The following video contains spoilers for the show, and also strong language. You have been warned, so if you still want to watch, click to follow the jump…
