Tales of Mere Existence - Girlfriend at Work

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

“A psychological analysis of what happens when you go visit your new girlfriend at work.

I have already mentioned Tales of Mere Existence a couple of times, but I think the sketches have an appeal in that I often find myself agreeing or saying, “My life is like that, too! Plus they are often just plain funny.

In this sketch, he humorously talks about the scenario of ‘boyfriend visits girlfriend while she is working’ all in a very scientist-like way with diagrams and everything…

Put simply: do not do it. Watch the video, see what happens to him, and then prevent it from happening to you.

I find the ending especially funny, but you’ll have to watch it to find out what I’m talking about…

Tales of Mere Existence

Monday, August 20th, 2007

I found this video while YouTube surfing and I fell in love with it.

Perhaps it’s because the simple drawing animation works well for the piece. Perhaps it’s because it’s funny. Perhaps it’s because it’s one of those tales that you can’t make up. You can exaggerate it a bit, but you have to have been through the original experience.

All of the above.

If you’ve ever thought you mother was annoying, doesn’t listen to you, and/or doesn’t trust you to take care of yourself even though you are an adult, you’ll like this short animation. It’s funny in a dry, sarcastic sort of way while also leaving us shaking our heads throughout because if the mother portrayed here isn’t your mother, than she’s the mother of someone you know.

Enjoy.

Cinema Psychic

Friday, August 10th, 2007

I came across this in my various YouTube wanderings. The self-proclaimed YouTube psychic predicts the successes and the failures of what’s playing in your theatres.

I find critics interesting - especially those who advertise that they are one. I know a lot of people who consider (or could consider) themselves film critics. It’ll be interesting to see if they agree or disagree with “the Cinema Psychic”.

See if you agree or disagree by watching the video.

The Farting Preacher

Monday, August 6th, 2007

I know a few of the Farting Preacher videos have been posted here, but I bring you five parts of the Farting Preacher (alternately known as Pastor Gas) series.

It may or may not make you feel immature for laughing, but a good laugh is guaranteed when you watch these videos. Even when you do so the second time. Maybe even a third. The placement of the farts, varying from quiet and polite to loud and extra gross, is akin to genius and makes the video that much better.

Enjoy. (Videos put after the more tag to save loading time.)

Hard at Work

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

Whether you’re in the States or elsewhere, you’ve probably seen The Office. If you haven’t, it’s a show that’s more of an office documentary turned sitcom than anything else.

I’m not quite sure where the appeal in The Office and Hard at Work lies. There’s the basic humor, but more than anything, you simply get to play the role of voyeur that you get with any documentary. Call it a perverse documentary of sorts.

While some of the character personalities are overdone in Hard at Work, I was born a critic and am being overly harsh on videos that are worth a watch. To sit back and be grateful you don’t work in that kind of place (if you don’t).

Here are episodes one through three of Hard at Work.

*Note: I post some videos under the more tag so the initial page loads faster.
