Are You Willing to Get Mad?

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

Rowr! Growl! Hiss! This world is a sad place full of YouTube addicts and little misguided punks wandering the streets when they’re not logged into YouTube and deciding what’s popular and what’s not!

Okay, I’m insulting this man a little too much, because he does have a point. We live in a world where obesity equals starvation. (Scientific American, baby. Read it.) The world is getting so small, and yet most of us just want to disconnect from life and sit online, desperate for a good YouTube video.

Hah. I guess you could count me as one of those people, given I write this site.

To End Conflict

Sometimes you have to stand up for what you believe in, and on October 18, 2007, from Tel Aviv and Jericho, the Israeli and Palestinian people will push their leaders for an end to the conflict - an unprecedented People’s Summit to give platform to moderate voices, internationally linked to events held worldwide.

In an awesome show of what people can do when they work together, these people hope to change the world of conflict and worry that their world has turned into. In these days of antisocial, internet addicted, politically apathetic people, this is an amazing show of what humanity can do and has to offer the universe.

If you can find away, please support these people and other groups all over the world who are trying to make the lives of those less fortunate and those in danger better.

National Coming Out Day

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

October 11th is National Coming Out Day! Congratulations to those who are taking the huge step of coming out to their friends and/or other loved ones.

First off, I’d like to give a little link love to my favourite lesbian, Lyndsey. Lyndsey was recently published in the Best Lesbian Love Stories anthology, and she’ll be giving away an autographed copy of her book, so make sure to stop by.

This video not only talks about coming out day and a bit of gay, lesbian, and transgender history, it calls out for you to record your response to the video “telling us what inspires you to live you life openly and honestly.”

I think that’s awesome, even though I might get some nasty comments for supporting this. Gays and lesbians put up with so much crap because “homosexuality is a sin” and yet I don’t see any adulterers getting bashed in the streets and getting their rights taken away, do you?

Help support the gay and lesbian community by raising awareness and celebrating National Coming Out Day.

Chaser’s War on Everything

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

The Chaser’s War on Everything is one of my favorite televisions shows here in Australia. It’s basically another “nothing is sacred” show, but done with taste and leaning more towards big issues like politics and terrorism. That’s not to say they don’t have a pointless clip or two thrown in there, but they’re definitely many large steps above other shows of this type.

In this clip, the Chasers respond in their own way to the terrorist security response here in Australia where they were trying to stop people from filming and taking pictures of famous landmarks.

See what the difference in response is to a man dressed up as an American tourist, and a man dress “slightly different”.

Enjoy. (more…)

Sicko

Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007

Micheal Moore is at it once again with his latest documentary “Sicko”. This documentary focuses on the downfalls of the United States medical system – one point being imprisoned terrorists get better medical treatment than a lot of people.

This is an interview of Moore talking about the movie:

Should I Buy My Son A Beer?

Friday, April 27th, 2007

First, you should go on a diet and stop eating those doughnuts Mr. Porky. Next stop telling lame stories about pigs that wouldn’t even entertain a 5 year old. And stop recording yourself telling these strange anecdotes and broadcasting it on YouTube to a potential worldwide audience numbering millions… they’ll all think you’re weird. Also, stop laughing at your own (so called) jokes, they ain’t funny, and saying “it was funny” doesn’t make them any more so.

George W Bush: The 10 Most Stupid Moments Of His Life

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Apologies to any Bush supporters among my loyal readers, but I’m sure even you can find some humour in these clips. This first one is obviously from The Late Show with David Letterman, and shows what they think are George Bush’s Top Ten stupid moments.

Christopher Knight for School Board TV Commercial

Monday, April 16th, 2007

The title says it all, this is a guy called Christopher Knight and his commercial for election to Rockingham County board of education. Comparing government legislation to the Death Star from Star wars is excellent, and there’s Christopher (Jedi) Knight fighting for the kids to get a proper education…. (more…)

Comic Relief 2007 Special Part 1

Monday, March 19th, 2007

On Friday night of last week, The UK had it’s traditional Comic Relief fundraising event. This is a way to raise money for needy people, especially in Africa, by making people laugh and bringing comedy in to what is essentially a sad and miserable situation. For those of you who saw it, here are some clips you may want to relive and laugh at again. For all those outside of the UK who may not have seen or ever heard of it, you might enjoy watching these highlights of the spectacular. Part 2 will be tomorrow so watch out for that. (more…)

Jet Grind Radio - Renegades Of Funk

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

I adore this video as it combines 2 of my favourite things… the Sega Dreamcast and Rage Against The Machine. Although both of them are now defunct, it doesn’t stop me loving watching anything to do with either on YouTube. (more…)
