Lara Croft vs Prince of Persia

Monday, October 29th, 2007

In a duel unlike any gamer has seen, Lara Croft and Prince of Persia face of in a…sing off?

In this funny video, Lara Croft and Prince of Persia face off singing “Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better featuring the voices of Bernadette Peters and Tom Wopat from Annie Get Your Gun.

The Last Duet on Earth

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

This duet is definitely different from the duet I put up last week. While that video was quite good, I think this one is a lot better, but that’s based purely on my personal tastes.

In this duet, we see a grim future for Earth. In the style of many post-apocalyptic stories, creatures who crave the flesh of humans now roam more or less mindlessly across the landscape.

By pure chance, the creatures find an underground bunker where, lo and behold, very possibly the last two humans on earth reside. The men make a run for it after they’ve been discovered, but will they make it to safety?

I think this video is excellent. It’s grim with a touch of dark humour to give it that ‘complete’ feel. If I did some sort of star system, this would get 5/5.

Harry Potter in the Hood

Friday, October 12th, 2007

Did you think the Harry Potter stuff was all over with the release of the last book? Far from it.

This is so wrong…and yet, so funny. In this Harry Potter spoof, Harry is getting down and rapping about his wizard life in the hood. Excuse me – H. Piddy is rapping about his life in the hood.

Not only does he make Harry Potter references, but he touches on pop culture with comments about Mel Gibson, Daniel Radcliffe, and more. Plus, he even looks similar to Daniel, which makes it all the more amusing.

I have to say, out of this whole funny song, my favourite line is:

“Voldemort is my bitch, no he ain’t no man. I can’t wait to bust a cap in his Azkaban.

Duet

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

In this strange yet entrancing video, we observe a dragonfly rising up in the early dawn hours to meet…a human woman.

This video mixes animation and real life dancing in a way that is not at all obvious (beyond what obviousness you are already going to have mixing the two) and doesn’t take away from the video.

Domo-kun Mad World

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

This video comes from the Live Journal site of someone I met at Conflux. The strange and yet hauntingly beautiful song “Mad World from the film Donnie Darko is set to clips from the Japanese stop-motion series of sketches called Domo-kun.

If you’re not familiar with either the song or Domo-kun… (more…)

Sex Machine and Internet People - Meth Minute 39

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

I’m not sure if it’s James Brown going on and on about a machine meant to have sex with human females or just the strangeness of the whole cartoon, but I found this animated clip to be quite entertaining.

All in all it’s a strange video about James Brown’s strange trippy talk about sex machines and a new race of cyber humans. Do you need anything more than that?

Let’s go! 11010010000111101010101001

I saw this was number two of the Meth Minute videos, so I went and found the first one, which is even better than the first. (And funny because it starts out with a video I put up a couple weeks ago – remember Drama Prairie Dog?)

This musical video features some of the most well known video moments, so check it out and see if there’s anything you missed.

Candy - Iggy Pop

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

This one is going up because the song has been stuck in my head (after only being played once weeks ago), and it has taken me ages to find it because I couldn’t remember the lyrics. Has that ever happened to you? I swear it’s one of the more annoying things in the universe.

This brain addiction song is “Candyâ€? by Iggy Pop. (more…)

Pink

Friday, September 21st, 2007

I think it’s time to get some ladies in this music week. A strong woman with a strong voice and even stronger opinions, Pink is a woman you can count on to put her all into her music. She’s not afraid to make a statement (or song) even if it’s about the President of the United States.

I enjoy her music a lot, and I hope you do, too.

Happy Friday.

Lifehouse

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

I have listened to and loved the soft yet rock qualities of Lifehouse’s music from the moment I first heard You and Me. Since then I have hunted down their music and thoroughly enjoyed it.

They’re rock without being overwhelming, soft without being sappy, and all around pleasant sounding. They’re my perfect music no matter what kind of mood I’m in, and I hope you like them as well.

Enjoy Everything, Blind, and You and Me. (more…)

Rascal Flatts

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

And something a little different today.

With a country feel that also reminds us of the seamless blending of voices in barbershop quartets, Rascal Flatts present songs that are not only meaningful but sound excellent.

I’ve been a fan of Rascal Flatts since the beginning - buying all of their CDs - and I have never once been disappointed in their music.

I hope you enjoy.

Kisschasy

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

Weird name. Good music.

Opinions Won’t Keep You Warm at Night is definitely the best song, in my opinion, - and not just because it makes me laugh at George Bush, Tony Blair, and John Howard - but that doesn’t mean Kisschasy is a one hit wonder. With a slightly more relaxed type of rock, it’s enjoyable for the times you want something to nod along with, but aren’t in the mood to completely rock out.

Check them out and let me know what you think.

Enjoy. (more…)

Fall Out Boys

Monday, September 17th, 2007

Today I’m featuring videos by Fall Out Boy, a band with a great rock sound without the deafening drums or unintelligible lyrics. Not only does the lead singer have a great voice, in combination with the other singers, they all sound great.

Here are a few songs I definitely don’t mind getting stuck in my head.

High School Musical Two

Friday, September 14th, 2007

Yes, I’m a little behind on the times, but I don’t have the Disney channel and I wasn’t falling over my feet for the first one. BUT I came across some videos from the second movie, and I’m in a sentimental mood, so I thought I’d put them up.

Plus, they do have decent singing voices.

Enjoy - You are the music in me, Everyday, What Time is it…

Dancing Animals in Love

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

This animated video features a song that will easily get stuck in your head, some adult content, and a statement about the human influence on nature.

I love it. It takes you through being amused, to giggling a bit over some ‘naughty’ things, and just when you’re paying the most attention, BAM! It makes a statement you won’t quite forget. Yeah, you’ll probably go back and giggle a bit more over it, but it’s the ending that makes this video complete.

Warning: Some adult content. (more…)

Monday, September 10th, 2007

Hello again! Food is the theme this week over at Write Anyway, a site of writing prompts to inspire your writing, and the video for Musical Monday is UB40’s Red Red Wine, which I happen to really like.

So, as a bonus, here is the video for Red, Red wine by UB40…
