Dancing Animals in Love

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

This animated video features a song that will easily get stuck in your head, some adult content, and a statement about the human influence on nature.

I love it. It takes you through being amused, to giggling a bit over some ‘naughty’ things, and just when you’re paying the most attention, BAM! It makes a statement you won’t quite forget. Yeah, you’ll probably go back and giggle a bit more over it, but it’s the ending that makes this video complete.

Warning: Some adult content. (more…)

Hello again! Food is the theme this week over at Write Anyway, a site of writing prompts to inspire your writing, and the video for Musical Monday is UB40’s Red Red Wine, which I happen to really like.

So, as a bonus, here is the video for Red, Red wine by UB40…

Just so You Know

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

I heard this at the gym this morning. While it’s a bit girly-girly, I like it. It has good music and a clear rhythm you can bounce along to.

Just so You Know - Jesse McCartney

Naruto - These Small Hours

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

I guess you could say I took a break from music in my life for a while. I’ve been getting back into it though, because I use music a lot to help inspire me when I’m writing stories.

I have grown addicted to Rob Thomas’ These Small Hours because it has the feel of a good soft rock song without being too “lovey gooey” or sentimental in a way that would make you sick. It’s a good song about life that doesn’t get too into itself.

I decided to go with the Naruto version instead of the Ryan and Merissa O.C. version.

This video is well done because the clarity of shots, the appropriateness of the scenes chosen to go along with the song, and the over all feel of the video in relation to the music. It’s nicely put together.

Enjoy. (Some videos put after the more tag to make the site load faster.) (more…)

Someday, Someday - Thirsty Merc

Friday, August 17th, 2007

As an added bonus, here’s some more Thirsty Merc, singing another one of my favorite songs Someday, Someday.

Enjoy!

20 Good Reasons

Friday, August 17th, 2007

I decided it was far past time I put some music videos on here, and so I’m going to start with the video Twenty Good Reasons by Aussie band Thirsty Merc.

Thirsty Merc has been gaining popularity in Australia and have had their songs used on television to promote different shows. They’ve also been touring around Australia recently, rocking it, and promoting their newest album Slideshows.

Take a peek at Twenty Good Reasons - both the regular and acoustic versions - and let me know what you think.

Treadmill Time

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

Okay, I go to the gym a minimum of three times a week, and I’ve never seen anyone doing something this cool…

OK Go on Treadmills combines awesome music, awesome choreography, and a weird setting just in case the previous two things don’t keep you watching.

Enjoy, and definitely don’t try this at home or at the gym.

Weapon of Choice

Monday, August 13th, 2007

In this video of pure genius, Christopher Walken doesn’t just bust a move - he busts several. Excellent choreography paired with a name we know but would least expect to be getting down all through a hotel makes this video a classic.

Walken, known for his many films and time on Saturday night live brings that ‘certain something’ to this music video that leaves us hypnotized as we watch the video. We have to watch the video a second time to take in the setting in which Walken is getting his groove on.

This is one of my favorite music videos. Enjoy.

World of Warcraft that You Play

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

I was digging around on YouTube for World of Warcraft stuff and, while there is a lot of pretty cool videos, I really like this video. Along with being a pretty funny song in general, this song names the WoW classes (Rogue, Hunter, Mage) along with naming specific attacks.

Quite enjoyable and a good intro to WoW classes.

The Beer Song

A couple weeks ago, I posted up the Beer Song, Lego style. I found the Beer Song again, but World of Warcraft style this time. For all you WoW fans, enjoy!

Star Wars Darth Vader Theme

Thursday, August 2nd, 2007

This isn’t one of the Lego videos with actual Legos, but the graphics on this video are fantastic and Legos are still involved. :)

Also, if you’ve ever wanted to be a conductor in any way (or would enjoy seeing Darth Vader playing conductor) you’ll like this video.

The New Battlestar Galactica

Wednesday, August 1st, 2007

My husband actually found this one and showed it to me, and I knew, with the recent BSG request and what’s summing up to be a BSG week, I had to put it up.

This song is about both the original BSG and comparing it to the new BSG. I haven’t seen the show and I enjoy the song, so I’m sure show fans will definitely enjoy it.

Listen closely to the lyrics. It’s worth it.

I’m a Bitch Spoof

Friday, July 27th, 2007

Pretty much all of us have heard Weird Al’s songs and know him for taking one song and turning it into something completely different and often hilarious.

I bet you haven’t heard of Chris Franklin, though.

This Aussie bloke from a city not far from where I live, actually, took Meredith Brooks/Alanis Morissette’s (depending on where you’re from) song Bitch and came back with the song Bloke.

If you know Aussie humor, you have an idea of what you’re in for with this video. If you don’t, sit back and enjoy. This is a video definitely worth watching. Imagine my surprise when I heard this in the pub for the first time as you listen to the lyrics.

The Lego Beer Song

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

Reasons this is an awesome video:

1. It’s about beer and drinking.
2. There are Legos.
3. The music is March Of The Toreadors.

I used to play with Legos a lot when I was a kid, so when I find videos that incorporate Legos I like to check them out. Not only are they enjoyable on the whole, but take the time to realize they make these videos with stop animation and switch the heads so the mouths appear to be moving. There’s an immense amount of work involved.

Enjoy.
