Steve Martin’s King Tut

Monday, October 29th, 2007

I love Saturday Night Live, but there is nothing like the classic Saturday Night Live days with Christopher Walken, Mike Myers, Chris Farley, Adam Sandler, Eddie Murphey, and more.

In this hilarious clip, Steve Martin gets down King Tut style with his “King Tut” song. The beauty of Steve Martin’s comedy is it doesn’t have to be outrageous to be funny. He can have fun with whatever he’s doing and you can’t help but laugh because he’s just plain funny when he’s having a good time.

This video is no different as he sings and dances – Nile style – along with a full entourage of Egyptian musicians and groupies.

If the Steve Martin dressed up as Tut can’t make you laugh, then I have no idea what will.

Are You Willing to Get Mad?

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

Rowr! Growl! Hiss! This world is a sad place full of YouTube addicts and little misguided punks wandering the streets when they’re not logged into YouTube and deciding what’s popular and what’s not!

Okay, I’m insulting this man a little too much, because he does have a point. We live in a world where obesity equals starvation. (Scientific American, baby. Read it.) The world is getting so small, and yet most of us just want to disconnect from life and sit online, desperate for a good YouTube video.

Hah. I guess you could count me as one of those people, given I write this site.

Dane Cook

Monday, October 8th, 2007

I’ve been a fan of Dane Cook for a long time. I watched him perform some of his first routines on Comedy Central. Since then, he has become a very popular comic, has gone on tours as well as shows like Jay Leno, and he had continued to be the same interesting comedian through all of the fame and lifestyle changes.

Unlike Steven Wright, who performs with a very dry, relaxed sort of routine, Dane Cook gets right into his performances, often shouting, jumping, and otherwise acting out his routines. (more…)

Old Testament Minute

By Allison of Find Religion and Reality on Bravo

Sometimes, no matter how religious you may be, you just have to have a sense of humor!

And what can we learn from this video?

1) Religion isn’t something that has to eat up all of your time. Really, these are the basics of the OT, and he showed them to us in less than a minute.

2) When you simplify the stories of the Bible, they are pretty ridiculous. Instead of focusing on specific passages and in-depth studies, perhaps we should all spend a bit more time on actual faith and good deeds.

3) Teaching others about religion is important and again, it doesn’t have to eat up all of your time. Take ONE minute to talk to someone about your faith!

4) Anyone really can post absolutely anything on YouTube. :-p

5) I am Noah. I am awesome. Weeeeerd.

Chaser’s War on Everything - Evangelicals

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

In this clip of The Chaser’s War on Everything, the Chasers examine late night Christian television.

Me putting this video up was nothing more than a video of something funny I saw, so no hatemail. I think even many of the Christians I know would have a laugh at some of this.

I mean, doing laundry in the love of God…? And the word…that’s the thing…and these words are things so when I say words…

You can’t watch this and not be at least a little confused.

Pink

Friday, September 21st, 2007

I think it’s time to get some ladies in this music week. A strong woman with a strong voice and even stronger opinions, Pink is a woman you can count on to put her all into her music. She’s not afraid to make a statement (or song) even if it’s about the President of the United States.

I enjoy her music a lot, and I hope you do, too.

Happy Friday.

Kisschasy

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

Weird name. Good music.

Opinions Won’t Keep You Warm at Night is definitely the best song, in my opinion, - and not just because it makes me laugh at George Bush, Tony Blair, and John Howard - but that doesn’t mean Kisschasy is a one hit wonder. With a slightly more relaxed type of rock, it’s enjoyable for the times you want something to nod along with, but aren’t in the mood to completely rock out.

Check them out and let me know what you think.

Enjoy. (more…)

Chicken Police

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

My husband told me about this video, and I was rather skeptical, but he was right…

You show those rabbits whose boss, chickens! (At the end of the video when the chickens are walking away, I can just imagine one of them saying, “Yeah, that’s right, b****.”)

Strange things…

Chaser’s War on Everything - Road Tests

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

Last week I introduced you the Australian show, The Chaser’s War on Everything.

One of the segments they do is called the Ad Road Test, where they take an ad and “find out if the claims made by the advertising companies stack up in the real world.” As in, if you see a commercial where a patron walks into a fast food place, asks a question, and the answer is sung back by the staff, they will go out and test to see if that really happens.

That’s the most basic explanation, but you get what I’m talking about.

In this ad road test, they are testing out the Nicorette ad where a man is offered a cigarette and a pep squad shows up saying, “No, Gary, no.” (shown in the clip) Now, if a pep squad showed up in front of a real smoker in real life, would that stop him from smoking? Watch and find out.

Chaser’s War on Everything

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

The Chaser’s War on Everything is one of my favorite televisions shows here in Australia. It’s basically another “nothing is sacred” show, but done with taste and leaning more towards big issues like politics and terrorism. That’s not to say they don’t have a pointless clip or two thrown in there, but they’re definitely many large steps above other shows of this type.

In this clip, the Chasers respond in their own way to the terrorist security response here in Australia where they were trying to stop people from filming and taking pictures of famous landmarks.

See what the difference in response is to a man dressed up as an American tourist, and a man dress “slightly different”.

Enjoy. (more…)

SNL Harry Potter

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

I think I’ve made it pretty clear on this blog that I love Saturday Night Live (especially ‘the good ol’ days’). I loved it even more when I saw this Harry Potter spoof.

Find out what happens when everyone is back from summer vacation and Hermione has…some new special powers.

Is Marriage Dead?

Friday, August 31st, 2007

Usually this might a “who cares” video, but I think what some of the people said in response to her questions were truly good points.

So what does it matter if marriage is dead? Well, there are religious, governmental, and monetary changes - huge changes - that would happen if marriage were changed from what it currently is according to the system.

Do you think marriage is dead? (more…)

…on Avenue Q.

With songs like “The Internet is for Porn” and “Everyone is a Little Racist”, you can see why this unconventional musical made it big.

By mixing two things not often mixed - puppets and adult humor - you get Avenue Q, the musical that deals with real things like unemployment, racism, and sex in music form.

With puppets. (more…)

The Farting Preacher

Monday, August 6th, 2007

I know a few of the Farting Preacher videos have been posted here, but I bring you five parts of the Farting Preacher (alternately known as Pastor Gas) series.

It may or may not make you feel immature for laughing, but a good laugh is guaranteed when you watch these videos. Even when you do so the second time. Maybe even a third. The placement of the farts, varying from quiet and polite to loud and extra gross, is akin to genius and makes the video that much better.

Enjoy. (Videos put after the more tag to save loading time.)
