An homage to conventions past
At long last we have finally come to the point in time where both major political parties are about to have their respective conventions and get this election season closer to being over with. In today’s posts we are going to have a look at memorable moments from political conventions past - for better or for worse - and believe me when I say that it can always get worse:
If you were around and old enough to watch television, it is unlikely that you could ever forget this classic snafu from the 2004 Democratic National Convention where we hear producer / director Don Mischer just trying to get some more damned ballons. Someone really should have told him his mic was live on CNN at the time…and I mean before he dropped the F-bomb.
This clip is even better though, with the normally stoic Sam Donaldson in Atlanta covering the DNC from 1988. You just have to watch, I can’t really explain it without giving it all away.
